Last week, Lucía Ferrer met with residents from across the district for an open Neighborhood Listening Session, an evening dedicated to hearing ideas, concerns, and hopes for the future of the community.
Held at the Community Center on Oak Street, the event brought together neighbors, students, small business owners, and local leaders. Participants discussed topics ranging from public transportation and sustainability to digital access and community safety.
Lucía emphasized the importance of dialogue in shaping meaningful change:
Real progress starts with listening. Every voice in this room matters, and every idea shared tonight helps us move forward together.
The atmosphere was friendly and collaborative, with many attendees volunteering to stay involved in upcoming projects and outreach efforts. The campaign team also shared information about upcoming events, the Community Innovation Survey, and opportunities to volunteer or host future sessions.
As the campaign continues, these listening sessions will play a key role in building a platform that truly reflects the community’s priorities.
